Example: search results, option 1, via home hub
LX 242 leaves Zurich for Dubai every evening. What you pay for the seat depends on which country sold you the ticket.
The same aircraft, the same day, the same seat. The ticket simply begins one hop away and carries you back through Zurich to board it. The fare is real, published and bookable. It is just not sold in Switzerland.
Every example below assumes you fly the short hop the evening before and sleep in the start city. The hotel is not in the price.
The seat you would have booked anyway
In Zurich you board the very SWISS aircraft you would have booked anyway, in the very same seat. The ticket just starts one short flight away and carries you through Zurich into that flight, at an unbeatable price.

Example: search results, option 2, via foreign hub
We find the way to better Business and First Class fares – via foreign hubs that conventional flight searches overlook.
Every origin below sits outside the set of cities the Zurich search routes through, so no through fare exists at any price and the routing cannot appear in a search the traveller runs themselves. It has to be built: an economy hop over, then that market’s own fare for the long flight.
The connection nobody sells from Zurich
A short hop takes you to the start city. From there an airline sells the same trip at that country’s price, on a routing no search from Zurich will build for you. You fly every leg, and nothing goes to waste.

How these were measured
You fly every segment
Two tickets: an economy hop from Zurich the evening before, then the long flight on that country’s own fare. Every total on this page includes the hop home and is flown end to end. On your own scan the «Via home hub» option can also be priced without the last short leg, and then you see both numbers.
Measured against a like-for-like fare from the hub
The “From the hub” column is the cheapest fare from the trip’s own hub in the same measurement that the traveller would actually have boarded: an airline on their own list, at most one stop, under twenty-four hours. One exception: in option 1 from Frankfurt and Munich it is the same Lufthansa First flight, booked there, because that is the seat the traveller wants. Your own scan sets its own benchmark out of your hub, from the flight you pick or the cheapest one it would have offered you, so your benchmark is yours, not this one.
Dated observations, not offers
The Zurich fares were priced live on 5 September 2026, in Swiss francs. The Frankfurt and Munich fares were priced live on 23 September 2026, in euros. One adult, return, throughout. Airlines reprice constantly. These say what the search returned that day, not what it will find for you. These numbers are a snapshot and serve as an example of the connections Row One searches for on your behalf.
